Kit Kieser Wellness Coordinator
Kit graduated from Indiana University and Bowling Green State University with her bachelor's and master's degrees, respectively. After several years teaching at the collegiate level, Kit put her passion for helping people to work through nutrition coaching and personal training. She is a certified personal trainer through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) and certified holistic nutrition coach though the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Kit is also certified as a Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach and serves as the lead for the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program for cancer survivors.
Anya Ayres Head of Personal Training, Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach
Anya is a graduate of Indiana University Kokomo, a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and a certified Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach. She is the program lead for the Diabetes Prevention Program here at the Kokomo Family YMCA. She grew up in the small town of Flora, IN along with two brothers who have been her lifelong her best friends. In May of 2009, she married her husband, Zach, the most patient and brave man she knows. Together, they love to travel and they adore their sweet Labrador, Eva. Anya has always had a passion to help people through health and fitness and is thankful to be a part of the team here at the Kokomo Family YMCA where she can put that passion into practice.
Hannah Treadway Personal Trainer, Head Rock Steady Boxing Coach
Hannah is a graduate of Grace College with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a certified group fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and works with individuals fighting Parkinson's Disease as a certified Rock Steady Boxing coach. She enjoys working with clients and members new to exercising or wanting a fresh start in fitness. Hannah has always been active in sports and fitness. She played volleyball and ran track and field in high school and played intramural lacrosse in college. She currently enjoys running, swimming, and weight lifting. Hannah is passionate about making functional fitness, nutrition, and an active lifestyle an important part of her clients' daily lives.
Jennifer Adams Personal Trainer, Rock Steady Boxing Coach
Jennifer's love for fitness and health started well in her childhood! Growing up with an athletic father opened her eyes to everything fitness. She started working for the Kokomo Sports Center in 2005. Then, during her last semester of college, she started her internship with the National Institute for Fitness and Sport in 2009. Jennifer graduated from IUPUI in the spring of 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Ever since, with a focus on special populations, she has been pursuing her passion and desire to help people of all backgrounds. Soon after she started at the Kokomo Y, Jennifer completed her certification in Rock Steady Boxing, a program for people with Parkinson's disease. She is currently the lead coach on the program.
Zach Ayres Personal Trainer
Zach is a graduate of Indiana University Kokomo and is currently pursuing his Masters of Public Management. He was born in St. Louis and moved to Flora, IN at a young age. While growing up, Zach worked on his family farm raising cattle and working in the fields. He served in the United States Air Force for six years. During his military career he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He loves outdoor adventure and every year he and his wife Anya go to a new place they have never been before. He believes travelling and new experiences can open one’s mind to new perspectives on life. He loves coaching and inspiring others to become better.
Cody Shipley Personal Trainer
Cody is a former collegiate baseball player, currently the Strength and Conditioning coach for IUK's baseball team, and a coach for Western High School's baseball team. He has a passion for fitness and health and loves to help people reach their fitness goals. He is a student at Indiana University Kokomo studying to receive his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. He is also a personal trainer through the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) and loves to help people get started on their fitness journey. Cody aspires to be a Kokomo firefighter after his graduation from IUK.
Rachel Sargent Personal Trainer, Les Mills Instructor
Johnna Welch Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor
Johnna started working for the Miami County YMCA at the age of 17 teaching Step aerobics. From that point, she was hooked into the group fitness world. For her, fitness started at a much younger age with gymnastics and several years performing in the Peru Circus. She took those acrobatic skills and used them to transition into competitive Swing and Lindy Hop dancing. In 1998, she finished Massage Therapy School ad IUPUI and worked as a massage therapist for the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) and taught group fitness classes at various centers in Indianapolis until moving to Kokomo with her husband in 2002. Johnna has been a NASM certified personal trainer since 1997 and maintains current certifications to teach Cycle, TRX, and Insanity. She has experience in leading half marathon training programs for Healthplex/Westview Hospital and the Kokomo Y. She has participated in several herself over the past 20 years, including half marathons and triathlons. The most rewarding and challenging adventure in her life is raising three children!
Stephanie Lee Wellness Coach
Stephanie is a genuine and determined individual who always sets her goals high. She is passionate about helping others improve their overall health and well-being. She is currently a student at Indiana University Kokomo working toward a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a double minor in Nutrition and Coaching. Stephanie is also working to earn a personal training certificate through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and currently holds a certification in Mental Health and Wellness. When she completes her bachelor's she plans to attend IUPUI to earn a master's degree in Dietetics.
Dawn Coop Wellness Coach
Dawn has Advanced Yoga, Advanced Pilates, YMCA Group Exercise, and Enhanced Fitness certifications. Her passion for fitness began in her 30’s. She and her two sons joined the Kokomo YMCA with a desire to begin working out and taking classes. She quickly fell in love with yoga and became certified to teach yoga in 1998. Her love for fitness has grown immensely. She has headed up several couch to 5K programs and is currently part of the Wellness committee.
